Driven by textiles, patterns and colour, Studio Hanneke Kamphuis was launched in 1988. Founder Hanneke Kamphuis graduated from the fashion department of ArtEz, the Arnhem Academy of Art.
Ever since, a range of commercial and cultural clients have been served, particularly in the fields of fashion, interiors and publishing. Studio Hanneke Kamphuis designs prints, develops colour and material concepts, creates moodboards for various purposes and initiates series of patterns.
Following the clients briefing, to combine and collect images, drawings, textures, and all kind of other inspirational items is usually the start of a newly created ambiance, product or environment.
As a result of lectorships on several Dutch Design Academies, Hanneke Kamphuis also started curating and compiling the work of young designers and graduates. These activities resulted in several editorial features in design magazines and books. It also ignited an exhibition about new interpretations of the lace-maker’s craft in contemporary design, "Ander Kant" in Rotterdam's Museum Boijmans van Beuningen 2006.
Lace is also the subject on a second and a third exhibition; "Kantlijnen", Bruges (Belgium) in 2008 and “Rhythms of Lace“, Calais (France) in 2010.
